I believe that I have a responsibility to students to teach them as pure, correct, and thorough Reiki as I possibly can, and do it in a way that they understand and can perform what is necessary to practice Reiki, at a financially affordable level. I know that other teachers do not emphasize drawing the symbols correctly, or any of the many powerful but simple Japanese techniques. If what you want is a cheap, quick, and effortless attunement then you can buy them on eBay - distant attunements DO WORK. That is not what I offer. 

It is my responsibility to make sure that the students knows the information when they're done with my class, and I provide free Reiki shares for students to practice on others as well. My reputation will either increase or fall with the quality of teaching I give. This is especially critical for students that want to be Reiki Masters and Teachers.

To sign up for a class, click on the RSVP button and enter your information. I will need your name as you want it to appear on your certificates. State which date you want to attend.

To pay the deposit or pay in full, click on the Pay for Classes button to pay by PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to use PayPal. Upon receipt of the deposit I will send you the Reiki I/II manual. You will need to study the Reiki II symbols as there will be a test on those.

Please contact me if you are interested in any of these classes, or would like more information on the contents. Class size is limited to six people, and there must be at least two people taking the class for it to "make."

If you have a life-threatening illness, you and a caregiver are eligible for discounts or scholarships. 

If you simply cannot afford the class, contact me and we can discuss.

If you would like to learn Reiki and a class is not scheduled for a time that is convenient for you, please contact me and we can work something out. If you already have a group of two or more people that would like to learn, we can schedule a class time that is convenient for you, either on weekends or on weeknights. You will get the same high quality instruction regardless. 


Current scheduled classes:

1. Reiki I class for kids scheduled for November 2 from 9:30 to 4:30. This class is for kids from age 10 to 16. Call 616 283-6339 for details and registration.

2. Reiki I Weeknight class is scheduled for November 10, 12, 17 and 19 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This includes the Gendai material as well as the "Western" material.

3.  Reiki I and II, several dates. Contact me for more info.
A word about Reiki I and II. I offer these classes both individually and together. Some teachers insist on a 21 day "detox." I do not. That decision is left up to you. Takata taught both ways, i.e. both with the 21 day waiting period between the Reiki I attunement and the Reiki II attunement, and without the waiting period. William Rand said that if students are told that they will detox then they do. If they're not told that they will detox then they don't. Since he has taught literally thousands of students I will defer to his experience, and the choice is yours whether or not to take them with the 21 day wait or not.

I also teach the Hiroshi Doi's Gendai Reiki Ho. Sensei Doi is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, and is allowed to teach the Japanese techniques in the West, and he teaches them under the condition that they be taught exactly has he does, which I do. Gendai Reiki Ho includes the better understood history of Mikao Usui and Reiki, traditional attunements, and Reiju which can best be described as "blessings" that are regularly given to students. Gendai Reiki also has an energy lineage that does not go through Hayashi or Takata, and is therefore a different energy, which I personally find a higher vibrational level.

Reiki I and II
Please see the class description to see what you learn in these classes. There is a $50 discount off of the total for massage school students and health care professionals (doctors, nurses, chiropractors, dentists, etc.).

If you would like to learn additional things such as using crystals in Reiki sessions, this can be added to the syllabus, and there will be a small addition to the fee and the length of time for the class. the use of crystals is not traditional Reiki, just FYI.

4.  Reiki Master Class - scheduled for December 2008
If you are interested in a class please contact me and we can set something up. I do break Reiki Master into Reiki Master Practitioner for those who choose to concentrate on healing (you will learn and practice the healing attunement and "psychic surgery"), and Reiki Master Teacher where you learn and practice all of the attunements, "psychic surgery" and Master symbols as a minimum.

NOTE: You will need to provide your Reiki II certificate and be practicing Reiki for a minimum of six months in order to take the Master class. I do not accept certificates from internet type classes and attunements. There are also other requirements.
